Beautiful England

Well it actually wasn't that beautiful on Monday 15th June. Oh no it wasn't. It started out boiling and quite nice you know as it is summer, but unfortunately as it is England and the weather cant always decide what it wants to do it began to rain.

At that time i was walking round the outside of my school after school had finished with my friend and we were thinking "Oh dear!" and so we rushed on in to the toilets to dry ourselves.

Once we had exited the loos we looked outside and the sun was out again. And i thought, "Aaah! Lovely lovely! Sunny sunny! I knew you were only kidding me around evil english weather monster." But as i was soon to find out it wasnt.

So after my friend had gone home i decided it was time for me to head too. So i walked to the bus stop expecting my bus to come soon but it didnt. I could take both buses but i prefer to take a specific bus that comes every half hour. It didnt show up for 45 mins and during this "fun filled" wait it began to rain. Not like before, it began to rain very heavily!

It was like being caught in a monsoon it was terrible and there were about 7 people huddled under the bus shelter trying to keep as dry as possible without much success. So thinking screw the "every half an hour bus" i got on the "every 15 minute bus". I sat at the top thinking the weather probably wont be as bad when i get to my destination where i would take my next bus, but i was very wrong with was much worse. I had sat at the top of the bus and could see the water falling in great amounts down the side of the bus from the top.

So i got off the bus and was off the bus probably a total of 3 seconds and i was already soaked all i had was my lil folder to protect my head and that didnt do much as i crossed the road to the next bus stop. I walked hastily and stood in the bus shelter awaiting my next bus.

When it came i was overjoyed as well as everyone else who was getting soaked. And we were off but unbelievably the worst was still to come. I live at the bottom of a hill and as we drove down the hill i watched all the water travelling rapidly like a river down the hill and knew i would have to wade through it all.

I got off the bus and was astounded at the predicament i was in. It wasnt like i could even stand under the bus shelter and wait for the rain to let up because there was loads of water rushing over my feet coming down the hill and i knew i wouldnt be able to linger. So i crossed the road but had to stop on the little island in the middle because the traffic lights had changed. So i stood in the middle of the road with cars passing by me on either side and splashing me up my skirt and so on. I was so desperate i was shouting at them to stop.

Finally i got to the other side of the road only to be met by a huge puddle/lake that had been caused by a manhole opening up and the water began to gush out and i couldnt get home without crossing it! So that i did but my shoe fell off and sort of bobbed away from me and i had to wade further into the puddle with only one shoe on to retrieve it. Upon retrieving it i slowly tipped all the water out of my shoe as cars drove past me watching the young girl battling with the rain.

I slipped my shoe back on and feeling beaten i ceased to hold my folder over my head and let the water pound down on me as i trudged the short stretch of road home. But unfortunately it didnt end there. It began to hail! And thats when i snapped. Broken and abused by mother nature i shouted in to the hail, "Oh fuck off!" And began to sprint the rest of the way home past a man standing under a bus shelter who had clearly heard me and into the shelter of my porch. I opened the door and stood there completely soaked through and so not impressed. The "evil english weather monster" had beaten me but i didnt go down without a fight, i went down with a water saturated uniform instead.

That was my horrific ordeal!

Ciao peeps! xx

P.S yes this was a very long post!
